BELLA NOW FUEGO
Hello Again,
Today I wanted to tell everyone about my new friend Fuego.
As some of you guys might remember Mommy was working with a cute little sorrel mare last year named Bella, who was available for adoption? Well I'm very pleased to announce that about two months ago Bella finally found a new owner! AND GUESS WHAT!? She's staying here at the ranch so Mommy can still help with her whenever its needed.
Momma would have preferred a bit of a more experienced horse person to take Bella, but it seems to be working out OK and Bella seems very healthy and happy, which of course in turn makes Mom happy!
ANYWAY! Mommy and I were recently tasked with retraining and finding a home for another horse.
Fuego is very sweet and very playful. He needs an experienced handler right now because he tends to get a bit nervous around insecure people and also he doesn't really seem to have a lot of experience with these thingies Mommy calls "ground manners", which like, isn't fair because she made ME learn ground manners from the day I came home (i was barely two years old) and now Fuego is like a million years old and has some how gotten out of learning them!....TEACH ME YOUR WAYS OH WISE ONE!
Today I wanted to tell everyone about my new friend Fuego.

I will be telling you all about him in his post! (daintily clears throat)
Lets get started!
Fuego is a (approximately) 23 year old American Quarter Horse gelding (although it's possible he may actually be considered an American Paint Horse because he DOES have a little spot the size of an orange on his tummy)

He stands about 14.3 hands high (although Mommy hasn't actually measured him yet because she's always forgetting stuff like that...(rolls eyes) Oh Mother...
Mommy has begun working with Fuego on his manners and says he's doing very well. He's willing to please and tries really hard to understand what she asks of him! SHOW OFF!
Mom says Fuego has long feet so
I was like "OOOOOHH You have to get your hooves trimmed nanny nanny nanny!"
And he was all like "She says you need yours done too!!'
And I was like "NU-UH!"
And He was all like "YEAH-HUH!"
And I was like "MOOOMMM FUEGO SAYS YOU GONNA MAKE ME GET MY FEET DONE TOO!!!"
And then my big mean Momma was all like "Yes, Tigerlily we've been over this April comes out to do your feet every six weeks."
And I was like "CRAAAAP!!"
Ugh whatever, anyway so Fuego (and I apparently) is going to get a hoof trimming soon. Another thing Mom wants you guys to know about Fuego is that he seems to have a sensitive lower back so he is probably best suited to being a companion horse although with some work it is POSSIBLE he will be rideable for a reasonably light rider.
FUEGO'S STORY:
According to what Mommy and I have gathered from Fuego's Mom and Fuego himself,
He was born and raised in Malibu by the grandfather of her kids.
His mother's name was Flame and he lived with her until about six years ago when she passed away.
This tells Mommy that he was probably never properly weaned which explains his lack of self confidence.
Fuego lived in one home from the time he was born until about a month and a half ago when he was given to Tiffany (his Momma) and moved here to the ranch.
He lived in a small, one horse barn all by himself and rarely got out in recent years.
The people who handled Fuego said he was very difficult and fiery. Mommy has not found that to be the case.
Because of his low self esteem he shuts down and gets defensive if he is handled roughly.
Before Mommy started working with Fuego he had never really been around horses besides him Mom, had never seen cows, bell boots, etc.
Tiffany tells us that he WAS broke to ride but has probably not been ridden in over ten years.
We both (Mommy training and me there for moral support) will be continuing to work with Fuego until a new home for him can be found.
Mommy is currently asking $300 OBO for him so if you guys know of anyone who sounds perfect from Fuego please let them know about him!
Currently you can find him on HORSECLICKS and DREAMHORSE as well as on our instagram @HOPEN4HEAVEN_EQUINE just use hash tag #fuegotheseniorhorse to find more info on him!
See you guys soon!
