PATIENCE-A VIRTUE I'M STILL LEARNING!
I've heard a lot of humans use the expression:
Mommy has been working on teaching me that I don't need to throw a "Tiger-tantrum" every time she walks away to get something out of the tack room or to say hello to another horse. And, I've made some very quick progress!
"Patience Is A Virtue."
Around the Ranch, I mostly hear it applied to how people need to handle or train horses, but sometimes it's used to express the way a horse should learn to behave.
Now, if it isn't obvious by now, I'm a bit of a diva. I love attention and always find it completely unacceptable if I am not the center of every one's universe at all times!

I like to paw or toss my head while I stand at the tie rail, if "un-pampered" for longer than 5 minutes.
This picture was taken earlier this afternoon, as I'm sure you can see, I am standing relaxed and quiet. My ears are focused on Mommy but I'm not throwing a "Tiger-tantrum" or having a "Tiger-tude".
I'm waiting patiently for my turn in the arena.
So you see, if Mommy had given up on me ever having good manners and had just simply ignored my fits or gotten mad at me.
I probably would have never made this much progress this quickly.
Patience is a virtue, it doesn't matter if you are a human or a horse, your actions affect those of others around you.
Whether they have a positive or negative affect is up to you.
Choose to be patient, choose to stay positive, it's the only way to succeed.
It will be hard sometimes, you will get frustrated, you will feel discouraged.
But, don't let those feelings control you.
Think back to the last time you did something that you didn't think you could do, use that memory as motivation to stay positive and keep trying!
It will be worth it! TRUST ME!
